Cost to design a major remodel of a home in Redwood City, California

Interested in remodeling and expanding their Redwood City home, Jason and Natalia contacted New Avenue for design services. They want to remodel the existing three bedrooms and add a fourth. They also want to remodel their two bathrooms and add an additional full bath. As part of the remodel, they plan to add a car port or garage.

They want to preserve their home's original footprint, adding only a small amount of square footage and remodeling the existing interior to make better use of the space.

Their plans are to live in their new space for the next twenty-five years. Jason and Natalia both work from home much of the time, so they need space for working and day-to-day activities like exercise. They will share the space with their two children.

Jason and Natalia's remodel is still in progress. The cost for design services at the time was $36,250.00. In 2020, the design cost would be $41,687.00. You can see the full design budget below.
