New Avenue Contractors Lift a House in Oakland, Add an ADU

On a recent project, our contractors helped a young design professional and her husband transform their home into the perfect place to raise their children while earning rental income from a ground-floor accessory dwelling.

The family didn't have the funds to make their 100-year-old house as big as they were allowed. This neighborhood would actually allow them to make it a triplex, but that would have increased the cost from around $300,000 to over $500,000. With young kids and a design professional's salary, half a million was just too much to handle at this point in their lives.
