Cost to Design and Permit a Remodel and ADU Addition in Fremont, CA

Navin and Monica of Fremont, CA, contacted New Avenue about updating and expanding their one-story home. They wanted an updated interior and add an accessory dwelling unit.

While the owners plan to use their new ADU as a rental home for now, they wanted to make it more versatile. They asked their New Avenue designer to create an accessory dwelling that could seamlessly go from being a separate rental unit to part of the main home. That way, they would also be able to use it for family.

The lot is an odd shape, but that didn't stop Navin and Monica's designer from giving them everything they wanted, including a fantastic view of the hills.

This style of ADU gives renters privacy but allows easy access if the owners choose to use the space for themselves or for family. It also maintains the two parking spaces in the garage.

The total cost of design and permitting this project was $25,680.
