Brandon and Anne’s San Mateo Remodel

Brandon and Anne are doing a big remodel to their home in San Mateo, CA. The family of four is remodeling the master bedroom and adding a 1-bed, 1-bath accessory building to their backyard. In the short term the accessory building will serve as a playroom, music room, office, a place to have a beer, and comfortable accommodation to host visiting friends and family. They may also occasionally list it as a bed and breakfast on airbnb. Looking to the future an elderly parent could move in and make themselves at home.

Below is a peek at some design development progress. The structure will sit in the corner of the backyard and is roughly 350 square feet or about 22’ x 16’. A welcoming deck wraps the two sides facing the main home.
