Devi Dutta-Choudhury has been studying, designing, and thinking about architecture for most of her life. Having lived in varied environments from college towns to Himalayan villages and southern suburbia to coastal cities, Devi credits these cross-cultural experiences with shaping her understanding of lifestyles and the homes that support them. She attended Tulane University and UCLA, where she received her two master’s degrees in architecture.

Devi is the author of House to Home: Designing Your Space for the Way You Live, published by Roost Books. It’s an interactive guidebook to home design based on her experience as an architect and in designing and building her own home in Berkeley, California, where she lives with her husband and three kids.

Devi specializes in modern, casual design. She enjoys working on a range of housing types from larger multi-family, co-living, and workforce housing to townhouses and single-family homes. She’s active in local planning and advocacy efforts that support a diverse and dynamic built environment.
