Planning to build an accessory dwelling in his backyard, Alex came to New Avenue to connect with a design professional and contractor and to manage his project.
He wanted to build a stand-alone unit that he could rent out to family or to short-term renters. An existing garage would have to be demolished to make room for the new structure.
A New Avenue partner architect used the ideas he’d put together to design an accessory dwelling that would work beautifully as a short- or long-term rental.
The one-bedroom, one-bathroom dwelling includes a kitchen, living room, and dining room. Clerestory windows in the living area let light into the room and contribute to the beauty of the building’s interior and exterior.
The total cost to design and build this project was $271,455.55. You can view the full budget below.
