Cost to design a one-bedroom accessory dwelling with loft in Oakland

Making a wise move for her family's financial future, AnMarie decided to add an accessory dwelling to her property. She plans to rent it out, which will be no problem given the high demand for housing in Oakland. She's also thinking ahead, knowing she can one day offer it as a guest house to family and friends or, if she ever needs to increase her rental income, move into the unit herself and rent out her main home.

A New Avenue design professional designed a one-bedroom ADU with a loft that's big enough to use as an additional sleeping area. The ADU will work very well in AnMarie's yard. She also plans to add a hot tub just outside the new accessory home.
