1. Get started online for free.
When you sign up to use the New Avenue system, you’ll start with a Goals & Ideas questionnaire. This will help you define your goals and will help our architect prepare for a meeting with you. You’ll also be able to access plans and budgets from actual projects to get an idea of how your project will go. You’ll see a roadmap on your project page to guide you along the way, and the design agreement on your project page spells out every step from start to finish.
2. Meet with your designer at your construction site.
Next, we’ll introduce the best designer for your project. We’ve interviewed hundreds of design professionals, and we’ll narrow it down for you, saving you a lot of legwork. The hiring process starts with the meeting at your home or construction site. For a flat fee of $300, a New Avenue design professional will discuss your Goals and Ideas questionnaire with you and give you their design ideas. You’ll learn what steps will be needed in the design process and find out about the permits you’ll need for your project.
After the meeting, your designer will go back to their desk and write up a detailed Design Proposal. This is a detailed plan for the design and permitting phase of the project and typically lists 25 to 30 steps.
