This little cottage is all about bringing family together.
It is located on a quiet East Bay block that is lined with classic California bungalows and it is opening a world of opportunity for the owner. The owner will initially use this extra space when her daughter, son-in-law and grandchild are visiting from their home in Israel. With the daughter and her family contemplating a move back to the Bay Area this may become a much more heavily used space as the three generations will need more space than the original home has to offer. When the family isn't using it, the owner may use this little cottage as a home base when travelling to Israel, to generate rental income or she can even keep it as her own little oasis if she decides to rent out her main home when taking extended trips to see her family in Israel.
This cottage was designed to have room for two people to use the space, has a separate loft and has tons of built in storage. It was oriented to face a shared backyard patio for outdoor dining and it's just a few steps from the big kitchen in the main home. Most importantly, there is an area that can hold a big enough table for a weekly dinner that has been a routine gathering for family and friends for decades.
